MANTECA, San Joaquin County — October 31, 2026. Saturday marks the final date listed in a monthlong free-fare offer on Manteca Transit’s regular fixed-route buses. The City of Manteca’s official events calendar scheduled the initiative from October 1 through October 31, 2026, coinciding with the rollout of redesigned routes.
What was free?
The municipal calendar’s Transit entry explicitly calls the program “Free Fares to the Community — Fixed Route Service Only.” It states that service is closed on Sundays. This is not an announcement that every door-to-door, paratransit, regional or privately operated transport service is free, and the calendar does not authorize free rides after October 31.
Where can riders go?
The city’s current route guide lists five fixed-route lines serving destinations such as the Civic Center, Senior Center, shopping areas, medical facilities and the Transit Center. Route 5 was added as part of the October 1 network redesign. Riders can use the live ETA bus tracker linked from that page to find a service rather than assume the 2025 routes still apply.
What about the coming days?
The official free-fare offer ends with Saturday, October 31 unless the city separately announces an extension. Sunday bus service is not part of the calendar listing. Riders should check standard fares, service days and applicable transfer policies for journeys starting in November; a promotional month does not permanently eliminate fares.
Who can confirm a route?
Contact Manteca Transit at (209) 456-8888 or use the official transit site for maps, replacement bus stops and route changes. In particular, some former stops were removed October 1, so even a free ride requires using an active pickup point.
